As of June 16, 2026, Standard seats located in front of the exit row have been rebranded as a Preferred Economy seat type. This update applies to bookings made in WestJet Agent Direct and WestJet Biz. These seats will not show as Preferred Economy in the GDS.

Preferred Economy seats vary by aircraft and are typically located between the Extended Comfort and Exit row seats. They do not include any additional onboard or airport amenities, and there is no change to current boarding priority.

As a reminder, primary cardholders of the WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡ and up to eight guests travelling on the same reservation are eligible to receive their first checked bag free. To receive the first free bag benefit, the conditions below must be met.

To qualify for the first free checked bag:

1. The primary cardholder’s WestJet Rewards ID must be added to the booking.
2. The booking must be paid in one of the following ways:

• • Paid in full using their WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡.
  • Paid in full using WestJet dollars or Travel Bank or a WestJet gift card.
  • Paid in full using cash or cheque.
  • Payment is split between the WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡ and WestJet dollars orTravel Bank or a WestJet gift card.

IMPORTANT: If any other form of payment is used than those listed above, your client will not be eligible to receive the first bag benefit. If you process your client’s WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡ through your agency’s point of sale device but use your agency’s credit card as the form of payment in the booking channel (e.g., GDS, WestJet Agent Direct, WestJet Biz), your client will not receive their free checked bag.
